Why do we allow Suicide Bombers to be created on this planet we call our home?

Comments

Because it is so much easier to ignore the problem. We crave simplistic answers to complex problems. We are all so absorbed in meeting our own problems, that we just don't care about the problems of others. Unless that problem threatens our own survival, as it does with the suicide bombers. So, we can just ignore the problem, and take the consequences, or we can try to understand the problem and do something about it. The choice is ours. I'm not optimistic.
Snowy I agree with your reasoning to a degree. Sometimes though, it is purely a lack of knowledge or the fact that people have been fed false propaganda, so they do not know the real circumstances and therefore are unable to make an informed decision.

Other times people are just paralysed because they do not know what to do about the situation.

Anyway my choice has been made and I am not going to take it.

"Not in my Name will such acts continue!"

For me it does not matter if I am optimistic or not, what matters to me is that I tried. My life will have meant something good because I tried to better this planet we called home.

I am glad you bought up the point about anti-semitism. I get angry over the fact that some people want to label any questioning or criticism of history or current politics/public policy as anti-semetic, thus silencing genuine concerns.

I'm favoriting this. I agree, it needs to be heard.

Hi thanks for your comment and thanks for favouriting my article, it is very much appreciated.

Yes I understand what you are saying about being labelled anti-Semitic, since the 2nd World War it is as if we are not allowed to criticise anything that Israel does without being labelled anti-Semitic - but really their labelling of us is just a way to try and deflect our criticism by making as out to be racist and therefore discredit our valid concerns.

Actually I have been thinking this morning that when I next write about this subject again in a few days, I will have to make it clear that a lot of the Jewish population thoughout the world are not happy about how the Palestinians are being treated and are worried that the actions of the Zionists in Israel are actually increasing anti-Semitism.

--------

So to anyone reading my ongoing commentary please do not bring hatred against the Jewish population or anyone for that matter, as that is not the point of my discussions. I believe in peaceful means of resolution of this situation.

Just remember not all Jewish people are Zionists and I guess not all Zionists are radical Zionists either.

Zionism: A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel.

Thanks Chezz for re-posting the video and giving my quote an extra burst of sunlight. Thank you indeed.

I watched the little girl on the video and was just stunned at how articulate she was regarding the conditions surrounding her life. Frankly, I didn't know whether to cry or be proud of her for standing so tall.

The Palestinian issue continues to be an open sore that stops the proper healing of human ties in the Middles East. Just like the Israelis wanted a Jewish homeland post WW2, all the Palestinians want is a piece of dirt to call home. Until this ledger is squared, the violence will continue.

I agree with you 100% Ninja. We all just want a place to live in peace and we all have that right regardless of whom we are.
Excellent quote Dee - thanks for dropping by and having a read :-)

Actually, none of us are 'born equal'. We are all born, in part, with different temperaments and genetic proclivities. However, this is a good thing. Given optimum conditions, we can be great in our difference and contribute a variety of perspectives to a common pool. For instance, Stephen Hawking wouldn't be the Stephen Hawking we know of if he wasn't 'disadvantaged' the way he is.
Yes I understand where you are coming from with that argument, as what you say is definitely true if we look at it in a biological way or in repsect to re-incarnation as well. So we are not equal due to 'nature'.

I guess Ninja's quote reflects just before we are born we are equal in the sense that we haven't received discrimination from others due to our differences or nuturing hasn't had a chance to have had an effect. But once we are born then the nurture factor also comes into play. Of course there are those that would say that the nurture effect comes into play even while in the womb and that maybe so.

It is a good thing that we are born different this is so, but it is not a good thing if we are continually treated badly or grossly unfairly. But to be wrapped up in cotton wool also has its disadvantages.

Thanks for the comment, it certainly got me thinking :-)
